Our providers are comprised of skilled and knowledgeable primary doctors and nurse practitioners dedicated to the care and well-being of your child. We strive to provide the most professional and comprehensive treatment for your child to ensure the best quality of life as they grow. Part of the pleasure of practicing pediatrics involves being part of the family and watching and advising on the healthcare of children as they mature from toddlers to teenagers to adults. Dr. New Sang, MD, MPH, FAAP

The eldest son of Dr. Orathai Sangrujiveth, Dr. New Sang graduated from Clovis West High School, before embarking on an academic journey that took him to renowned institutions such as UCLA and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After honing his skills and acquiring invaluable knowledge, he completed his training in the serene landscapes of Honolulu, Hawaii. His professional journey then led him to Kauai, where he spent five years contributing to the healthcare landscape.


During his tenure on Kauai, he played a pivotal role in a high-volume outpatient clinic, displaying his proficiency in handling a diverse array of medical cases. His expertise extended to attending high-risk deliveries, showcasing a commitment to maternal and child health. Additionally, he took on the responsibility of covering the ER during on-call shifts.


Beyond his work at Sang Pediatrics, Dr. Sang has worked part-time in the NICU at the Community Regional Medical Center-Fresno. His leadership qualities have been acknowledged through his two terms as the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Community Regional Medical Center from 2016 to 2020. He was also the driving force behind the donation to improve postpartum facilities at CRMC-Fresno and Clovis Community Hospitals, and as a result, the units were named the Sang Family Postpartum and Newborn Care.


Dr. Sang currently does a monthly segment Kids Health Watch segment of Fox 26's Great Day program, where he teaches viewers on what's going on in pediatrics. When not working, his favorite activities include reading, cooking, eating, walking his 3 dogs and traveling with his wife and 3 daughters. Dr. Sang will always be committed to improving the lives of the community, employees, and the patients, and will always accept new patients who align with the practice's values of trust, honesty, integrity, competence, and intelligence.

Monica Blue, RN, MSN, CPNP

Monica has been a pediatric NP for many years.

She received her Master of Science in Nursing from CSUFresno.

Monica has previously worked with the USCF Fresno residency program helping train pediatric, internal medicine, family medicine and emergency medicine physicians.



She is happy to now be a part of Sang Pediatrics and looking forward to serving you.

Heather Yates, RN, MS, CPNP-PC

Heather Yates RN, MS, CPNP-PC is originally from Westerville, Ohio. She received her undergraduate training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She spent a few years at Ohio State University Medical Center in research before starting her training at the Ohio State University College of Nursing where she received her Masters in Pediatric Advanced Practice nursing. She comes to Sang Pediatrics with 15 years of experience in pediatrics working for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio in cardiology and pediatric emergency medicine.



Heather enjoys running and playing soccer, traveling with her husband and three children, and reading.

Dr. Orathai Sangrujiveth, MD, FAAP

Dr. Orathai Sangrujiveth, or as her patients call her, Dr. Sang, has been practicing pediatrics in Fresno since 1985. She graduated from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand from the Faculty of Medicine. She received her medical residency training in Chicago, Illinois. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has admitting privileges at the Community Regional Medical Center and Clovis Community Medical Center, where she sees newborns.


Dr. Sang is a talented chef, especially when it comes to Thai cuisine. On her spare time, Dr. Sang likes to travel, cook, play with her grandchildren, and watch Thai soap operas.

Kelly Hamel, MSN, RN, CPNP-PC

Kelly Hamel achieved her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006 and her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2014. As a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Pediatrics, Kelly has found a career that fits perfectly with her love of children and families. Kelly’s professional employment has included Valley Children’s Hospital (both inpatient and primary care) and the UCSF Fresno Residency program where she worked in primary care and helped train pediatric, family medicine, and internal medicine residents. Now Kelly has joined the professional staff at Sang Pediatrics. Here she feels ideally positioned to work with child and family populations, which are dear to her heart.

Dr. Allie Johnston D.O. - Pediatrician

"Dr. Allie Johnston is a board-certified Pediatrician with a passion for pediatric primary care. She is originally from Fremont, California. She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from UC San Diego. She then went on to complete her medical school training at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Johnston finished her medical training at UCSF Fresno where she completed her pediatric residency. After residency, she continued to work with UCSF Fresno as the chief resident and also worked in private practice. She is excited to now be a part of the Sang Pediatrics team.


In her spare time, Dr. Johnston enjoys cooking, working out, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and 2 golden retrievers, Oliver and Tahoe" 

Esther Jieun Kim, MSN, CPNP-PC, PMHS

Esther Jieun Kim is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in primary care. She has worked in primary care as a pediatric nurse practitioner for 10 years. She is also certified as a pediatric mental health specialist.



She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a registered nurse at Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City and her Master of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Yale University School of Nursing. Her special interest is in Pediatric Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Melissa Torres, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Melissa Torres is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years experience as a primary care provider. In 2005, she received her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Scholastica and her Master of Science in Nursing from CSU Fresno in 2011. Melissa has an extensive background in Pediatrics, which includes employment at Valley Children’s Hospital Emergency Department from 2005-2018.

Melissa feels a strong sense of both personal and professional fulfillment being able to serve a pediatric population and their families. Because of this, being part of the Sang Pediatrics team is a welcome opportunity! In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family which includes her 3 daughters.
